For the past few years, I've been so discouraged about the prospect of being able to stop the Socialist juggernaught that has been gaining speed and mass in the U.S., I have been promoting the alternative of expatriation. I still feel that anyone who believes there is no hope left to alter the direction of the U.S. government should be free to leave. I also believe that those who can afford the cost should have a financial nest egg outside the U.S.

As an international tax advisor, I do assist some citizens and residents to comply with the complex process of expatriating.

But recently I have acquired a slimmer of hope that  there might be enough of a backlash against the Progressive policies (of Obama-Pelosi-Reid) that control of the House and possibly the Senate could be restored to representives of a more conservative persuasion this November.

The Tea Party Movement has encouraged me.

Recent primary elections have encouraged me.

Newt Gingrich's new book, To Save America has encouraged me.

The remarkable growth of Mark Skousen's Freedomfest Conference encourages me.

Apart from some academic style reading and writing about the issues for the past few years, I've really been sitting on the sidelines.

But I've been pondering what more I can do to make a constructive contribution to restoring freedom in the U.S.  Partly due to age but mostly due to family ties, I have no intention of leaving the U.S. to live offshore for the rest of my life.

There seems to be a connection between the Tea Party and American Solutions. At the least, I'm going to join the local chapter of the Tea Party to see what I can do to be more proactive. I might even join the local Libertarian Party even though I have some reservations about their platform policy regarding national defense.

If we can vote the far left rascals out of office this November, it will hopefully prevent Obama from pushing through any more of his budget busting big government bills. Better yet, we may be able to get enough new voices in Congress to actually repeal the Health Care Act and any other bills that are pushed through by Obama-Pelosi-Reid before the fall elections.
