There
are many recreation
options with the Auckland City Highlights Tour either for a full day or
half-day. Pick ups are from the Hyatt Hotel at various times. We
also
have tours that will take you outside of Auckland, such as the
Waitomo/Glow-Worm Caves/Rotorua -- which is a very popular tour for any
first
timer in NZ who wants to experience the lush-green of NZ, and the
culture, in
Rotorua where you will see the Pohutu Geysers, the Whakarewarewa Maori
Arts and
Crafts Institute, The Rainbow Springs where we have our native birds
like the
Kiwi birds, the Tuatara, etc.... and the Rainbow Farm Shows where you
will see
sheep shearing, sheep dogs shows etc....and this tour will be a
full-day tour
outside of Auckland, pick-up from Hyatt Hotel at 0655 and return to
hotel at
2000 (8pm).
The
other one is to go up to
the Bay of Islands, with its beaches and coastal bays, and
it also covers a bit of history
etc....depending on your interests. Also the pick up from hotel
is about
0655 and return at 8pm.
All tours go on a daily basis each and every day.
There
are other places that are
recommended – such as the South Island to Queenstown where
the Milford Sounds or the Fiords etc... and then
perhaps to the
Franz Josef Glaciers, and then to Greymouth and catch the Tranz-Alpine
Train to
Christchurch and perhaps fly back to Auckland.
The
South
Island is much
more spectacular than the North Island but it really depends on what your
interests
are. For Auckland Highlights you might be interested in Kelly
Tarltons
(Underwater World) where half of it is in the Antartic where we have
live
penquins on real snow, and the other half is the Underwater World that
goes
right out to the ocean etc...
Another
attraction is our Sky Tower with a revolved Restaurant (Orbit) which
is A la
Carte Menu, and the Observatory Restaurant which is a buffett Seafood
Restaurant, and you can also experience the Sky Tower SkyJump at 192m
which is
NZ highest jump and was originally developed by Waitomo Adventures
Ltd.
Or
perhaps you might catch a
ferry to go across to Devonport which is on the other side of the
harbour-bridge at about 12minutes each way, or to Waiheke Island (Our
Getaway
Holiday Island) which is about 35 minutes each way on the ferry, and
you will
see some Arts and Crafts, explore the Island for an hour and half on a
guided
tour, enjoy its nice beaches and you can have wine tasting etc..., or
you can
go to Rangitoto Island (Unique Volcanic Island). It’s about 35 minutes
each
way, but there are guided tours to explore the island or you can hop on
the
ferry and explore on your own if you prefer.
Additional attractions and
events can be discovered at the Travel Desk located in the Main Lobby
of the
Hyatt Hotel, and they will be happy to assist you with any arrangements
or
bookings or information, or directions if required .
