Christopher M. Riser, M.A., J.D., L.L.M.

 
Chris Riser served in the U.S. Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he reached the rank of sergeant, completed airborne and air assault training, and served in the Persian Gulf War as a squad leader with the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion (TE)(ABN) of the XVIII Airborne Corps.  He has an A.B. in Russian and Slavic Linguistics  (Phi Beta Kappa), as well as an M.A. in Slavic Linguistics, a J.D. and Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Estate Planning. He is a member of the law firm of Mayer & Riser, PLLC in the North Carolina mountain resort town of Highlands.

EDUCATION:

He received his A.B., with Distinction, in Russian and Slavic Linguistics  (Phi Beta Kappa), as well as his M.A. in Slavic Linguistics, and his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he is a Fellow of the Center for Slavic, Eurasian and East European Studies. Chris received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Estate Planning from the University of Miami.
