Gideon Rothschild is a partner with the law firm of
Moses & Singer, L.L.P. in New York city and specializes in estate
planning and asset protection planning.
He focuses his practice in the areas of domestic and
international estate planning and asset protection, including the use
of sophisticated estate planning techniques in the representation of
high net worth individuals. Mr. Rothschild is a nationally recognized
authority on the use of offshore trusts and other planning techniques
for wealth preservation. His clients include professionals, real estate
developers and owners, closely-held business owners and directors of
publicly-held companies. His practice also includes estate
administration and the representation of clients in taxpayer disputes
at the federal, state and local levels.
Mr. Rothschild is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estates
Counsel and listed in Best Lawyers in America. He is the co-author of
the BNA Tax Management portfolio on Asset Protection Planning and is a
member of the Advisory Boards of BNA’s Tax Management and Trusts and
Estates.
He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School
of Law and New York Law School Graduate Programs and has lectured
frequently on asset protection and advanced estate planning strategies
to professional groups including the University of Miami’s Philip
Heckerling Institute, the New York University Federal Tax Institute,
the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the
Southern Federal Tax Institute and the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants. Mr. Rothschild is also licensed as a Certified
Public Accountant.
He is Chair of the American Bar Association Committee on Asset
Protection, is on the board of advisors for The Journal of Asset
Protection and The Practical Accountant in addition to
serving as an editorial consultant for Offshore Press, Inc.
He's a contributing author to The Practical Accountant,West's
New York Practice and the New York Law Journal. He has
written
dozens of articles for numerous publications on the subjects of asset
protection, estate planning and elder law. He is also a frequent
speaker
at professional conferences.
Mr. Rothschild is an Adjunct Professor at the University of
Miami Law School Graduate Program and has lectured frequently on asset
protection and estate planning to professional groups including the
American Bar Association (program chair), the New York University
Federal Tax Institute, Southern Federal Tax Institute, the New York
State Bar Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants. He is the co-author of the forthcoming BNA Tax Management
Portfolio on Asset Protection.
