There are an almost endless assortment of phony schemes and scams to dodge taxes. (There are also a lot of legal ways to save taxes.) This web site provides links to reliable information about web sites and online articles that explain why various kinds of tax schemes won't survive a challenge by the IRS. I welcome suggestions for links to online articles exposing various kinds of tax scams and schemes. Send your suggestions to jacobs@offshorepress.com  and please put "Tax Scams" in the subject line. I get a huge amount of email and sometimes delete email because I don't take the time to read it carefully if the subject line seems to be spam or something that's not of any interest to me at the time.

I've been writing articles, newsletters and books about how to do that for more than 20 years. I also provide consulting services to help investors and businesses to minimize their taxes. But I waste a lot of my time dealing with potential "clients" who are looking for confirmation about some tax scam or scheme that some promoter is trying to sell them. Because I try to help taxpayers to save taxes within the law, I really dislike those who prey on the complexity of the income tax system and the ignorance of most taxpayers by encouraging them to participate in illegal tax scams, schemes and dodges that won't withstand a challenge by the IRS in any court in the U.S.
